Sophie Bauer
Subproject 2

Sophie has a multidisciplinary background in cultural anthropology, political science and sociology and holds a M.A. in Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt. In her PhD research, she developed a critical understanding of menstruality that describes everyday practices of menstruation as material-discursive ‘becoming-with’. Her research focuses on the entanglement of the physical, technological, and social dimensions of reproduction. Together with Sara Lafuente-Funes, she works on conceptions of reproductive aging in the context of egg cell conservation.
Sophie is currently working with Sara Lafuente-Funes on subproject 2: Egg freezing to extend fertility and redesign the future in Spain as part of the CRYOSOCITIES project.
